Hootsuite alows you to manage multiple social media accounts from one place
Cons for small business: cost & lockdown
1. Analytic are expensive ($50 for a single report)
2. Forced to use their url shortener for analytic purposes
Prevents you from using other similar services
3. Getting around the previous problem with an expensive custom url shortner
4. Certain posting options won’t post photos to facebook
5. Doesn't play nice with facebooks insights analytic
6. Facebook’s edgerank system (the algorithm which determines whether a post of yours will show up in another's feed or not) penalizes using third party platforms.
7. It’s expensive to have multiple users on an account
My 8th reason, they make you use a ridiculous “point system” to make purchases.
I agree with the author. I think this tool makes a lot of sense for larger businesses, but is probably too expensive for small mom and pop operations. Additionally it is frustrating that hootsuit greedily tries to prevent you from using competing platforms.
